Think out of the Box
We believe in many things in the world. For example, the
earth is round, then what is the catch? If I were to say that the light has a
wave and atom nature, the physicists would agree with me. If we were to say
that a man evolved from monkeys, the biologist would agree with us. All are
standing good then what’s the problem?
The problem is that we are agree with each other. The whole
problem with human race is conformity. There was a time just like now when the utmost
of the scientists believed the earth was plane. There was a time when
scientists including Albert Einstein believed that light has got only a wave
nature, later it was Einstein himself who proved the wave and particular nature
of light, therefore explaining the photoelectric effect , he got Noble prize in
physics. There was a time when the chemists broke their head to explain the
structure of benzene and believed that they would never be able to do so. If
all of them had agreed with themselves then we would still believe in those
so-called out dated knowledge.
It was then that somebody dared to think beyond. People did
not accept things what they are and they made a difference. The problem is that
we do not think, we accept everything told to us. Even though we use jargons
like “thinking out of the box” and “innovativeness” the fact remains that we do
not think. The differences between daring to think and being innovative is
simple. We know that 1+1=2. To challenge to think is to say 1+1=3 and to prove
it. To be innovative is to say that 1+0.5+0.5=2. Same wine in a different
bottle. As somebody said “the true danger is not that computer will start
thinking like man, but that man will start thinking like computers .” In fact that’s
exactly what we are doing.
When a world was clothed in darkness and men never knew the
concept of artificial light, somebody dared to think so. Today he has illumined
the whole world with the invention called bulb, it would have made no
difference to us because we were happy when it was dark and we are happy when
it is so bright now. When men never even thought that they could fly like
birds, two brother dared to think about it. They invented the plane. If the
concept of air transport had not been designed, it would have make no
difference to us because we are ready to confirm. It is only because they dared
to think, They managed to make a differences in the world.
Let me give an example of the fact that we believed everything
for granted by others. We call ourselves students of science. The meaning of superstation is to believe in
something with blind faith, while the meaning of scientific learning is to
accept only if proved by logic or if it can be measured qualitatively or
quantitatively. The scientists teach that an atom has proton, neutrons and
electrons. Let me ask, if someone has really seen an atom? The given theories
are only the best possible explanation to the existing observations. Since
nobody on the the earth has seen an atom, the very fact that we accept its
structure is blind faith. Is there a greater superstation than this? Even
though we say that man evolved from monkey, nobody has seen it and nobody
therefore can prove it, therefore isn’t it a superstation? When we learn E=mc2
in class it is a superstation since nobody has seen it. However, when divine
creates matter out of thin air, it is science because we can see E=mc2.
So we realize that whatever knowledge we have is based on blind faith, even
then we call ourselves scientific why? It is only because we are told so.
Science we are prepared to admit whatever is told to us, the matter is very
simple.
Then how do we dare to think? To start with, we should
unlearn everything that we have learnt till now and start afresh. Think like
the primary school boy and girl who has not yet joined an educational
institution, because once he/she does, the fate is sealed forever. If a child
is taught that 1+1=2, then that child will never think of an alternative possibility
that what if 1+1 is not equals two? Ask simple questions like why is the sky
blue? Why do all the things fall down? It may seems silly questions but as the
story begins, it was when an apple fell down on Newton’s head that he asked why
should an apple fall down and not up? From which the theory of Gravitational
and later on the whole Newton Mechanics were derived. Newton was not only the
first person who had anything falling onto his head. Nevertheless, he was the
first person who asked why?, while all the other accepted the fact an apple always fall
down.
The solution to the complex things are so simple and the
solutions to the simple things in life are so complex. That is why all over
proof are very complex. Therefore, we can say that never proven anything simple
because we cannot think of complex problem.
We may not succeed, but we can at least try. It is better to
live own life even if no one accepts, rather than living somebody else’s, just
because other accepts it. With this, I would like to conclude, if the readers
accept what I have said, I feel that I have made my point. If the readers do
not accept what I have written, I feel that I made my point better.
